2022 Best Value Master’s Degree Colleges for General Engineering in the Southwest Region

General Engineering is the 78th most popular major in the country with 11,925 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, general engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $66,152 and had an average of $20,077 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 1,775 general engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $74,200 and $19,581 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 297 general engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,078 and $37,227 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Southwest Region” ranking, we looked at 12 colleges that offer a degree in general engineering. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great general engineering programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Oklahoma Christian University. The school came in at #1 for the Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Southwest Region. OC is a small private not-for-profit school situated in Edmond, Oklahoma. It awarded 39 masters’s engineering degrees in 2019-2020.
OC also took the #5 spot in our “Best General Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking. Average graduate tuition and fees at Oklahoma Christian University are $11,430, but some majors have different tuition rates.
Out of the 12 schools in the Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Southwest Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Arizona State University - Skysong landed the #2 spot on the list. ASU - Skysong is a public institution located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The school has a large population, and it awarded 59 masters’s degrees in 2019-2020.

This large school is located in College Station, Texas, and it awarded 16 masters’s engineering degrees in 2019-2020.
