Health Sciences & Services is the 42nd most popular major in the country with 31,648 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, health sciences and services graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $34,571 and had an average of $24,129 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 8,162 health sciences and services graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,669 and $26,835 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 379 health sciences and services graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,950 and $43,286 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value Health Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region” ranking, we looked at 12 colleges that offer a degree in health sciences and services. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great health sciences and services programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

Out of the 12 schools in the Best Value Health Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of the Cumberlands landed the #1 spot on the list. University of the Cumberlands is located in Williamsburg, Kentucky and, has a fairly large student population. In 2019-2020, this school awarded 12 masters’s health science degrees to qualified students.
Cumberlands not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #11 on our “Best Health Sciences & Services Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” list. Average graduate tuition and fees at University of the Cumberlands are $4,582, but some majors have different tuition rates.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Northern Kentucky University. The school came in at #2 for the Best Value Health Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region. Highland Heights, Kentucky is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out masters’s health science degrees to 15 students in 2019-2020.
NKU also took the #8 spot in our “Best Health Sciences & Services Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at Northern Kentucky University are $17,358.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Georgia College & State University. The school came in at #3 for the Best Value Health Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region. Located in Milledgeville, Georgia, this medium-sized public school awarded 22 diplomas to qualified masters’s health science students in 2019-2020.
In addition to being on our southeast region master’s degree health science students list, Georgia College has also earned the #4 rank in our “Best Health Sciences & Services Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at Georgia College & State University are $20,868.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Nova Southeastern University. It ranked #4 on our 2022 Best Value Health Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region list. Nova Southeastern University is a private not-for-profit institution located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The school has a large population, and it awarded 43 masters’s degrees in 2019-2020.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at NUS Florida, the school also landed the #3 spot in our “Best Health Sciences & Services Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking. You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Central Florida. It ranked #5 on our 2022 Best Value Health Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region list. UCF is a large school located in Orlando, Florida that handed out 117 masters’s health science degrees in 2019-2020.

University of North Florida landed the #6 spot on the 2022 Best Value Health Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region ranking. UNF is a public institution located in Jacksonville, Florida. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 15 masters’s degrees in 2019-2020.
UNF also made our “Best Health Sciences & Services Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” list, coming in at #7. Average graduate tuition and fees at UNF are $21,930, but you may pay more or less depending on your major.
University of Alabama at Birmingham landed the #7 spot on the 2022 Best Value Health Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region ranking. This large school is located in Birmingham, Alabama, and it awarded 7 masters’s health science degrees in 2019-2020.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at UAB, the school also landed the #9 spot in our “Best Health Sciences & Services Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking. Average graduate tuition and fees at UAB are $19,188, but some majors have different tuition rates.
