2022 Best Value Allied Health Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region
When it comes to choosing a college, students have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. Our “Best Value Allied Health Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region” ranking is part of that endeavor.
In 2019-2020, 81,167 people earned their degree in allied health professions, making the major the 15th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, allied health professions graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $49,676 and had an average of $30,684 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 25,545 allied health professions graduates with average earnings and debt of $45,399 and $30,896 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 3,120 allied health professions graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,950 and $43,286 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Allied Health Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region” ranking looked at 66 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in allied health professions. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent allied health professions programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the allied health professions program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Out of the 66 schools in the Best Value Allied Health Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences landed the #2 spot on the list. Little Rock, Arkansas is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The public school handed out masters’s allied health degrees to 36 students in 2019-2020.

Out of the 66 schools in the Best Value Allied Health Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of the Cumberlands landed the #3 spot on the list. Cumberlands is a fairly large private not-for-profit school situated in Williamsburg, Kentucky. It awarded 28 masters’s allied health degrees in 2019-2020.
Average graduate tuition and fees at University of the Cumberlands are $4,582, but some majors have different tuition rates.
Out of the 66 schools in the Best Value Allied Health Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Milligan University landed the #4 spot on the list. Milligan College, Tennessee is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out masters’s allied health degrees to 24 students in 2019-2020.

Located in Nashville, Tennessee, this small private not-for-profit school handed out 46 degrees to qualified masters’s allied health students in 2019-2020.

Elon University ranked #10 on this year’s Best Value Allied Health Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region list. Elon is a private not-for-profit institution located in Elon, North Carolina. The school has a medium-sized population, and it awarded 36 masters’s degrees in 2019-2020.
