2022 Best Value Nursing Schools for an Associate in the Middle Atlantic Region
When it comes to choosing a college, students have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. College Factual has developed its “Best Value Nursing Schools for an Associate in the Middle Atlantic Region” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
In 2019-2020, 313,362 nursing students received their degree, making the major the 3rd most popular in the country. In 2017-2018, nursing graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $67,065 and had an average of $26,282 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 39,826 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $73,365 and $26,263 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 12,364 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $32,733 and $16,201 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Nursing Schools for an Associate in the Middle Atlantic Region” ranking looked at 109 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in nursing. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great nursing programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the nursing program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Out of the 109 schools in the Best Value Nursing Schools for an Associate in the Middle Atlantic Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Delaware Technical Community College - Terry landed the #2 spot on the list. Delaware Technical Community College - Terry is located in Dover, Delaware and, has a fairly large student population. In 2019-2020, this school awarded 281 associates’s nursing degrees to qualified students.

Out of the 109 schools in the Best Value Nursing Schools for an Associate in the Middle Atlantic Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Suffolk County Community College landed the #3 spot on the list. Located in Selden, New York, this large public school awarded 205 diplomas to qualified associates’s nursing students in 2019-2020.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Suffolk County Community College, the school also landed the #6 spot in our “Best Nursing Associate Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” ranking. The yearly cost to attend Suffolk County Community College is $5,533 for middle atlantic region associate degree nursing students.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Baltimore City Community College. It ranked #4 on our 2022 Best Value Nursing Schools for an Associate in the Middle Atlantic Region list. Baltimore City Community College is located in Baltimore, Maryland and, has a small student population. In 2019-2020, this school awarded 55 associates’s nursing degrees to qualified students.

Out of the 109 schools in the Best Value Nursing Schools for an Associate in the Middle Atlantic Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Helene Fuld College of Nursing landed the #5 spot on the list. New York, New York is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out associates’s nursing degrees to 259 students in 2019-2020.
HFCN not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #1 on our “Best Nursing Associate Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” list.
The low student loan default rate of 4.8% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%.
Harrisburg Area Community College did quite well in the 2022 Best Value Nursing Schools for an Associate in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking, coming in at #6. Harrisburg, Pennsylvania is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associates’s nursing degrees to 440 students in 2019-2020.
HACC also made our “Best Nursing Associate Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” list, coming in at #16. It costs about $11,990 for Middle Atlantic Region Associate Degree Nursing students per year to attend HACC.
Excelsior University did quite well in the 2022 Best Value Nursing Schools for an Associate in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking, coming in at #7. Excelsior University is a large private not-for-profit school situated in Albany, New York. It awarded 1,061 associates’s nursing degrees in 2019-2020.
Excelsior University not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #3 on our “Best Nursing Associate Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” list.
With a ranking of #8, Community College of Allegheny County did quite well on the 2022 Best Value Nursing Schools for an Associate in the Middle Atlantic Region list. Located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, this fairly large public school handed out 364 diplomas to qualified associates’s nursing students in 2019-2020.
CCAC not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #18 on our “Best Nursing Associate Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” list. The yearly cost to attend Community College of Allegheny County is $9,047 for middle atlantic region associate degree nursing students.
Camden County College ranked #9 on this year’s Best Value Nursing Schools for an Associate in the Middle Atlantic Region list. Blackwood, New Jersey is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associates’s nursing degrees to 66 students in 2019-2020.
The estimated yearly cost for Camden County College is $6,603 for Middle Atlantic Region Associate Degree Nursing students.
Harford Community College came in at #10 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Nursing Schools for an Associate in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking. With a ranking of #15, Rowan College at Burlington County did quite well on the 2022 Best Value Nursing Schools for an Associate in the Middle Atlantic Region list.
