Nursing is one of the most popular majors in the nation, ranking 3rd of all the majors we analyze. In 2019-2020, 313,362 degrees were awarded to students with this major. In 2017-2018, nursing graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $67,065 and had an average of $26,282 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 74,467 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $64,095 and $26,787 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 26,079 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $31,631 and $18,547 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Nursing Schools for an Associate in the Southeast Region” ranking analyzed 293 colleges that offered a degree in nursing. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality nursing programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.

The school came in at #1 for the Best Value Nursing Schools for an Associate in the Southeast Region. Southern Regional Technical College is located in Thomasville, Georgia and, has a small student population. In 2019-2020, this school awarded 101 associates’s nursing degrees to qualified students.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Southwest Georgia Technical College, the school also landed the #10 spot in our “Best Nursing Associate Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking.
