Anthropology is the 77th most popular major in the country with 12,008 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, anthropology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $24,661 and had an average of $23,289 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Plains States region, there were 682 anthropology graduates with average earnings and debt of $25,360 and $23,539 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 587 anthropology graduates with average earnings and debt of $39,786 and $25,576 respectively.
