With 200,458 degrees handed out in 2019-2020, engineering is the 6th most popular major in the United States. In 2017-2018, engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $64,888 and had an average of $23,564 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 31,375 engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $66,476 and $24,844 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 9,643 engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $60,887 and $46,998 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region For Those Making $0-$30k” ranking analyzed 45 colleges that offered a degree in engineering. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent engineering programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
