East Asian Languages is the 184th most popular major in the country with 2,219 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, East Asian languages graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $25,569 and had an average of $20,789 in loans still to pay off.

Across the New England region, there were 162 East Asian languages graduates with average earnings and debt of $31,700 and $27,000 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 140 East Asian languages graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,041 and $24,492 respectively.

For this year’s “Best Value East Asian Schools for a Bachelor’s in the New England Region” ranking, we looked at 11 colleges that offer a degree in East Asian languages. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality East Asian languages programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
