2022 Best Value Education Schools for a Bachelor’s in the Southeast Region
With all of the options students have for higher education today, it can be tough to choose which direction to take. Our “Best Value Education Schools for a Bachelor’s in the Southeast Region” ranking is part of that endeavor.
General Education is the 35th most popular major in the country with 29,936 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, general education graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $47,138 and had an average of $29,674 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 4,177 general education graduates with average earnings and debt of $42,486 and $33,384 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 611 general education graduates with average earnings and debt of $36,277 and $25,415 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Education Schools for a Bachelor’s in the Southeast Region” ranking looked at 31 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in general education. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality general education programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the general education program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Out of the 31 schools in the Best Value Education Schools for a Bachelor’s in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Florida Atlantic University landed the #1 spot on the list. Located in Boca Raton, Florida, this large public school handed out 65 degrees to qualified bachelors’s education students in 2019-2020.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Harding University. It ranked #2 on our 2022 Best Value Education Schools for a Bachelor’s in the Southeast Region list. Harding University is a private not-for-profit institution located in Searcy, Arkansas. The school has a small population, and it awarded 13 bachelors’s degrees in 2019-2020.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend University of Arkansas at Monticello. This small school is located in Monticello, Arkansas, and it awarded 39 bachelors’s education degrees in 2019-2020.
