With 310,601 degrees handed out in 2019-2020, education is the 4th most popular major in the United States. In 2017-2018, education graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $43,887 and had an average of $30,244 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Rocky Mountains region, there were 19,487 education graduates with average earnings and debt of $42,311 and $27,283 respectively. At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 358 education graduates with average earnings and debt of $75,140 and $97,138 respectively.

For this year’s “Best Value Education Schools for a Doctorate in the Rocky Mountains Region” ranking, we looked at 16 colleges that offer a degree in education. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great education programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

This large school is located in Provo, Utah, and it awarded 20 doctorate’s education degrees in 2019-2020.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Northwest Nazarene University. The school came in at #2 for the Best Value Education Schools for a Doctorate in the Rocky Mountains Region. Northwest Nazarene University is a small school located in Nampa, Idaho that handed out 17 doctorate’s education degrees in 2019-2020.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Utah State University. It ranked #3 on our 2022 Best Value Education Schools for a Doctorate in the Rocky Mountains Region list. Utah State University is located in Logan, Utah and, has a large student population. In 2019-2020, this school awarded 25 doctorate’s education degrees to qualified students.
