In 2019-2020, 30,670 people earned their degree in electrical engineering, making the major the 31st most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, electrical engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $70,098 and had an average of $23,581 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 5,341 electrical engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $71,102 and $24,246 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 2,159 electrical engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $60,887 and $46,998 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value EE Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region For Those Getting Aid” ranking analyzed 38 colleges that offered a degree in electrical engineering. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent electrical engineering programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Columbia University in the City of New York.
