In 2019-2020, 1,134 people earned their degree in mathematics and computer science, making the major the 229th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, mathematics and computer science graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $52,850 and had an average of $21,473 in loans still to pay off.

At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 936 mathematics and computer science graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,303 and $24,501 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Math & CompSci Schools for a Bachelor’s For Those Getting Aid” ranking looked at 30 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in mathematics and computer science. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent mathematics and computer science programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
