In 2019-2020, 64,869 people earned their degree in health and physical education, making the major the 11th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, health and physical education graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $29,872 and had an average of $24,778 in loans still to pay off.

Across the New England region, there were 2,241 health and physical education graduates with average earnings and debt of $31,339 and $24,314 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 1,714 health and physical education graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,041 and $24,492 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Phys Ed Schools for a Bachelor’s in the New England Region” ranking analyzed 30 colleges that offered a degree in health and physical education. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent health and physical education programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
