In 2019-2020, 64,869 people earned their degree in health and physical education, making the major the 11th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, health and physical education graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $29,872 and had an average of $24,778 in loans still to pay off.
At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 306 health and physical education graduates with average earnings and debt of $72,680 and $116,043 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value Phys Ed Schools for a Doctorate” ranking, we looked at 46 colleges that offer a degree in health and physical education. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent health and physical education programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the health and physical education program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.
