Anthropology is the 77th most popular major in the country with 12,008 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, anthropology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $24,661 and had an average of $23,289 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 2,237 anthropology graduates with average earnings and debt of $23,694 and $23,268 respectively. At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 90 anthropology graduates with average earnings and debt of $71,978 and $116,300 respectively.
