In 2019-2020, 12,008 people earned their degree in anthropology, making the major the 77th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, anthropology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $24,661 and had an average of $23,289 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 2,237 anthropology graduates with average earnings and debt of $23,694 and $23,268 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 216 anthropology graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,950 and $43,286 respectively.
