Best Value Hospitality Schools for a Doctorate

Students have lots of options to chooose from today when trying to decide which college to attend. Our “Best Value Hospitality Schools for a Doctorate” ranking is part of that endeavor.

In 2019-2020, 17,830 people earned their degree in hospitality management, making the major the 61st most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, hospitality management graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $33,271 and had an average of $21,829 in loans still to pay off.

At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 54 hospitality management graduates with average earnings and debt of $72,680 and $116,043 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Hospitality Schools for a Doctorate” ranking analyzed 12 colleges that offered a degree in hospitality management. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent hospitality management programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the hospitality management program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.
