2022 Best Value Associate Degree Colleges for Hospitality Management
With all of the options students have for higher education today, it can be tough to choose which direction to take. College Factual was founded, in part, to help students make the decision as to what would be the best school for them. Our “Best Value Hospitality Schools for an Associate” ranking is part of that endeavor.
Hospitality Management is the 61st most popular major in the country with 17,830 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, hospitality management graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $33,271 and had an average of $21,829 in loans still to pay off.
At the associate degree level specifically, there were 2,636 hospitality management graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,082 and $17,678 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value Hospitality Schools for an Associate” ranking, we looked at 212 colleges that offer a degree in hospitality management. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality hospitality management programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the hospitality management program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Out of the 212 schools in the Best Value Hospitality Schools for an Associate that were part of this year’s ranking, Bunker Hill Community College landed the #1 spot on the list. BHCC is a medium-sized school located in Boston, Massachusetts that handed out 25 associates’s hospitality degrees in 2019-2020.
BHCC also made our “Best Hospitality Management Associate Degree Schools” list, coming in at #5. The yearly cost to attend BHCC is $7,867 for associate degree hospitality students.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Kapiolani Community College. It ranked #2 on our 2022 Best Value Hospitality Schools for an Associate list. Located in Honolulu, Hawaii, this medium-sized public school awarded 85 diplomas to qualified associates’s hospitality students in 2019-2020.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Kapiolani CC, the school also landed the #1 spot in our “Best Hospitality Management Associate Degree Schools” ranking. It costs about $6,368 for Associate Degree Hospitality students per year to attend Kapiolani CC.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Valencia College. It ranked #3 on our 2022 Best Value Hospitality Schools for an Associate list. Located in Orlando, Florida, this large public school awarded 103 degrees to qualified associates’s hospitality students in 2019-2020.
Valencia College also made our “Best Hospitality Management Associate Degree Schools” list, coming in at #3. It costs about $5,205 for Associate Degree Hospitality students per year to attend Valencia College.
Out of the 212 schools in the Best Value Hospitality Schools for an Associate that were part of this year’s ranking, Madison Area Technical College landed the #4 spot on the list. Madison, Wisconsin is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associates’s hospitality degrees to 11 students in 2019-2020.

Western Technical College also took the #18 spot in our “Best Hospitality Management Associate Degree Schools” ranking. It costs about $10,081 for Associate Degree Hospitality students per year to attend Western Technical College.
The impressive student-to-faculty ratio of 9 to 1 means that students may have more opportunities to work more closely with their professors than they would at other schools.

Middlesex County College landed the #7 spot on the 2022 Best Value Hospitality Schools for an Associate ranking. This fairly large school is located in Edison, New Jersey, and it awarded 14 associates’s hospitality degrees in 2019-2020.

Dakota County Technical College landed the #8 spot on the 2022 Best Value Hospitality Schools for an Associate ranking. Rosemount, Minnesota is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associates’s hospitality degrees to 1 students in 2019-2020.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at DCTC, the school also landed the #23 spot in our “Best Hospitality Management Associate Degree Schools” ranking. It costs about $11,063 for associate degree hospitality students per year to attend DCTC.

Cincinnati State Technical and Community College landed the #9 spot on the 2022 Best Value Hospitality Schools for an Associate ranking. Located in Cincinnati, Ohio, this medium-sized public school awarded 12 diplomas to qualified associates’s hospitality students in 2019-2020.
Cincinnati State also took the #20 spot in our “Best Hospitality Management Associate Degree Schools” ranking. The yearly cost to attend Cincinnati State is $5,469 for associate degree hospitality students.
LaGuardia Community College did quite well in the 2022 Best Value Hospitality Schools for an Associate ranking, coming in at #10. This fairly large school is located in Long Island City, New York, and it awarded 69 associates’s hospitality degrees in 2019-2020.
LaGuardia not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #2 on our “Best Hospitality Management Associate Degree Schools” list. It costs about $6,766 for associate degree hospitality students per year to attend LaGuardia.

American Public University System came in at #13 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Hospitality Schools for an Associate ranking. Charles Town, West Virginia is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The private for-profit school handed out associates’s hospitality degrees to 8 students in 2019-2020.
American Military University excels when it comes to hospitality quality. It’s in the top 15% of all schools reviewed in that analysis. The estimated yearly cost for American Public University System is $10,222 for Associate Degree Hospitality students.
With a freshman retention rate of 98%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its students.

Central Piedmont Community College did quite well in the 2022 Best Value Hospitality Schools for an Associate ranking, coming in at #14. Central Piedmont Community College is located in Charlotte, North Carolina and, has a fairly large student population. In 2019-2020, this school awarded 11 associates’s hospitality degrees to qualified students.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Central Piedmont Community College, the school also landed the #16 spot in our “Best Hospitality Management Associate Degree Schools” ranking.
