2022 Best Value Chemistry Schools for a Doctorate in the Southeast Region

In 2019-2020, 21,951 people earned their degree in chemistry, making the major the 44th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, chemistry graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $38,704 and had an average of $22,279 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 5,141 chemistry graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,932 and $22,165 respectively. At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 546 chemistry graduates with average earnings and debt of $71,978 and $116,300 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Chemistry Schools for a Doctorate in the Southeast Region” ranking looked at 28 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in chemistry. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent chemistry programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
