General Agriculture is the 148th most popular major in the country with 3,332 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, general agriculture graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $33,257 and had an average of $20,441 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 842 general agriculture graduates with average earnings and debt of $29,044 and $23,732 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 665 general agriculture graduates with average earnings and debt of $36,277 and $25,415 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Agriculture Schools for a Bachelor’s in the Southeast Region” ranking analyzed 19 colleges that offered a degree in general agriculture. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality general agriculture programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
