General Agriculture is the 157th most popular major in the country with 3,370 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, general agriculture graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $36,894 and had an average of $20,543 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 823 general agriculture graduates with average earnings and debt of $32,401 and $22,644 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Agriculture Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking looked at 15 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in general agriculture. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality general agriculture programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.

When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the general agriculture program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.
