Electrical Engineering is the 31st most popular major in the country with 30,670 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, electrical engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $70,098 and had an average of $23,581 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Rocky Mountains region, there were 1,142 electrical engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $66,700 and $22,733 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 335 electrical engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,560 and $37,817 respectively.

For this year’s “Best Value EE Schools for a Master’s in the Rocky Mountains Region” ranking, we looked at 13 colleges that offer a degree in electrical engineering. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great electrical engineering programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend University of Utah. The school came in at #2 for the Best Value EE Schools for a Master’s in the Rocky Mountains Region. U of U is a public institution located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The school has a large population, and it awarded 47 masters’s degrees in 2019-2020.

U of U did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #4 on our “Best Electrical Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region” list. Average graduate tuition and fees at University of Utah are $24,695, but some majors have different tuition rates.

Out of the 13 schools in the Best Value EE Schools for a Master’s in the Rocky Mountains Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Utah State University landed the #3 spot on the list. USU is a public institution located in Logan, Utah. The school has a large population, and it awarded 27 masters’s degrees in 2019-2020.

In addition to being on our rocky mountains region master’s degree ee students list, USU has also earned the #8 rank in our “Best Electrical Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region” ranking. Montana Technological University ranked #7 on this year’s Best Value EE Schools for a Master’s in the Rocky Mountains Region list. Montana Technological University is a small school located in Butte, Montana that handed out 2 masters’s EE degrees in 2019-2020.
