Industrial Engineering is the 86th most popular major in the country with 9,448 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, industrial engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $64,716 and had an average of $22,994 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 2,641 industrial engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $63,360 and $24,071 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 562 industrial engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,950 and $43,286 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value IE Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region For Those Getting Aid” ranking looked at 19 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in industrial engineering. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great industrial engineering programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the industrial engineering program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Located in Raleigh, North Carolina, this large public school awarded 52 degrees to qualified masters’s IE students in 2019-2020.
