General English Literature is the 22nd most popular major in the country with 41,945 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, general English literature graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $27,525 and had an average of $23,628 in loans still to pay off.

At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 33,287 general English literature graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,303 and $24,501 respectively.
