A large number of veterans attending a college means the college and faculty are more used to supporting and accommodating the needs of those with prior military experience. The VA reports that there are 813 GI Bill® students at William & Mary. Since the total enrollment at the school is 6,949, nearly 11.7% of the student body is using the GI Bill® to help pay for their education. As a benchmark, the Student Veterans of America puts the share of veteran college students nationwide at three to four percent.
