With 313,362 degrees handed out in 2019-2020, nursing is the 3rd most popular major in the United States. In 2017-2018, nursing graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $67,065 and had an average of $26,282 in loans still to pay off.

Across the New England region, there were 14,677 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $73,355 and $29,178 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 2,430 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $58,606 and $42,101 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Nursing Schools for a Master’s in the New England Region” ranking analyzed 37 colleges that offered a degree in nursing. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent nursing programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
