When it comes to choosing a college, students have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. Our “Best Value Nursing Schools in the New England Region” ranking is part of that endeavor.
Nursing is one of the most popular majors in the nation, ranking 3rd of all the majors we analyze. In 2020-2021, 322,592 degrees were awarded to students with this major. In 2019-2020, nursing graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $70,916 and had an average of $25,426 in loans still to pay off.
Across the New England region, there were 14,673 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $79,068 and $26,724 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Nursing Schools in the New England Region” ranking looked at 95 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in nursing. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great nursing programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the nursing program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Bristol Community College. The school came in at #3 for the Best Value Nursing Schools in the New England Region. Massasoit Community College came in at #10 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Nursing Schools in the New England Region ranking. Massasoit Community College is a medium-sized public school situated in Brockton, Massachusetts. It awarded 75 ’s nursing degrees in 2020-2021.
It costs about $8,444 for New England Region Nursing students per year to attend Massasoit Community College.
Community College of Rhode Island landed the #11 spot on the 2023 Best Value Nursing Schools in the New England Region ranking. Located in Warwick, Rhode Island, this fairly large public school handed out 226 diplomas to qualified ’s nursing students in 2020-2021.

North Shore Community College ranked #12 on this year’s Best Value Nursing Schools in the New England Region list. This small school is located in Danvers, Massachusetts, and it awarded 59 ’s nursing degrees in 2020-2021.

Cape Cod Community College came in at #13 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Nursing Schools in the New England Region ranking.
