In 2019-2020, 17,830 people earned their degree in hospitality management, making the major the 61st most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, hospitality management graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $33,271 and had an average of $21,829 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 5,663 hospitality management graduates with average earnings and debt of $32,970 and $23,823 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 541 hospitality management graduates with average earnings and debt of $31,631 and $18,547 respectively.

For this year’s “Best Value Hospitality Schools for an Associate in the Southeast Region” ranking, we looked at 50 colleges that offer a degree in hospitality management. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great hospitality management programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the hospitality management program at the school and the cost of the school after aid is awarded among other things. See our ranking methodology to learn more.
