In 2019-2020, 1,564 people earned their degree in agricultural engineering, making the major the 203rd most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, agricultural engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $55,175 and had an average of $22,449 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 242 agricultural engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $52,275 and $24,366 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 38 agricultural engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,950 and $43,286 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value AE Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region” ranking analyzed 9 colleges that offered a degree in agricultural engineering. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent agricultural engineering programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
