Industrial Engineering is the 86th most popular major in the country with 9,448 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, industrial engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $64,716 and had an average of $22,994 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 2,641 industrial engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $63,360 and $24,071 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 562 industrial engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,950 and $43,286 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value IE Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region” ranking analyzed 17 colleges that offered a degree in industrial engineering. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent industrial engineering programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
