Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 1,207 industrial engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $66,691 and $23,699 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 542 industrial engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $60,887 and $46,998 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value IE Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region” ranking, we looked at 10 colleges that offer a degree in industrial engineering. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great industrial engineering programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the industrial engineering program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Out of the 10 schools in the Best Value IE Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Lehigh University landed the #1 spot on the list. This medium-sized school is located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and it awarded 48 masters’s IE degrees in 2019-2020.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Binghamton University. The school came in at #2 for the Best Value IE Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region. Binghamton University is a public institution located in Vestal, New York. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 100 masters’s degrees in 2019-2020.
Binghamton University also took the #3 spot in our “Best Industrial Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” ranking. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at Binghamton University are $25,290.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University at Buffalo. It ranked #3 on our 2022 Best Value IE Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region list. University at Buffalo is located in Buffalo, New York and, has a large student population. In 2019-2020, this school awarded 130 masters’s IE degrees to qualified students.
University at Buffalo did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #4 on our “Best Industrial Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” list. Average graduate tuition and fees at University at Buffalo are $26,028, but some majors have different tuition rates.

The school came in at #4 for the Best Value IE Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region. Rutgers New Brunswick is a large public school situated in New Brunswick, New Jersey. It awarded 27 masters’s IE degrees in 2019-2020.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Rutgers New Brunswick, the school also landed the #6 spot in our “Best Industrial Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” ranking. University of Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh Campus landed the #7 spot on the 2022 Best Value IE Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking. Located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, this large public school awarded 21 diplomas to qualified masters’s IE students in 2019-2020.
Pitt also took the #5 spot in our “Best Industrial Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” ranking. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at Pitt are $40,836.
With a ranking of #8, New York University did quite well on the 2022 Best Value IE Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region list. Located in New York, New York, this large private not-for-profit school awarded 38 diplomas to qualified masters’s IE students in 2019-2020.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at NYU, the school also landed the #10 spot in our “Best Industrial Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” ranking. Average graduate tuition and fees at New York University are $36,892, but some majors have different tuition rates.
Columbia University in the City of New York did quite well in the 2022 Best Value IE Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking, coming in at #9. Columbia University in the City of New York is a private not-for-profit institution located in New York, New York. The school has a large population, and it awarded 99 masters’s degrees in 2019-2020.
Columbia also made our “Best Industrial Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” list, coming in at #1. Average graduate tuition and fees at Columbia University in the City of New York are $51,194, but some majors have different tuition rates.
With a ranking of #10, Rochester Institute of Technology did quite well on the 2022 Best Value IE Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region list. Rochester, New York is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out masters’s IE degrees to 42 students in 2019-2020.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at RIT, the school also landed the #9 spot in our “Best Industrial Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” ranking.
