Industrial Engineering is the 86th most popular major in the country with 9,448 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, industrial engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $64,716 and had an average of $22,994 in loans still to pay off.

At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 2,617 industrial engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $56,398 and $43,194 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value IE Schools for a Master’s” ranking looked at 77 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in industrial engineering. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality industrial engineering programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.

Out of the 77 schools in the Best Value IE Schools for a Master’s that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Wisconsin - Madison landed the #3 spot on the list. Located in Madison, Wisconsin, this large public school awarded 29 degrees to qualified masters’s IE students in 2019-2020.
