2022 Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region

Engineering is one of the most popular majors in the nation, ranking 6th of all the majors we analyze. In 2019-2020, 200,458 degrees were awarded to students with this major. In 2017-2018, engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $64,888 and had an average of $23,564 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 31,375 engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $66,476 and $24,844 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 9,643 engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $60,887 and $46,998 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region” ranking, we looked at 41 colleges that offer a degree in engineering. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality engineering programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.

Out of the 41 schools in the Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Villanova University landed the #1 spot on the list. Villanova University is a fairly large school located in Villanova, Pennsylvania that handed out 124 masters’s engineering degrees in 2019-2020.
Villanova did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #8 on our “Best Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” list. Average graduate tuition and fees at Villanova are $20,719, but you may pay more or less depending on your major.
Out of the 41 schools in the Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Rowan University landed the #2 spot on the list. Rowan University is a public institution located in Glassboro, New Jersey. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 42 masters’s degrees in 2019-2020.

Out of the 41 schools in the Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Lehigh University landed the #3 spot on the list. Lehigh is a medium-sized private not-for-profit school situated in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. It awarded 153 masters’s engineering degrees in 2019-2020.
Lehigh also took the #10 spot in our “Best Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” ranking. Average graduate tuition and fees at Lehigh University are $27,130, but some majors have different tuition rates.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Morgan State University. It ranked #4 on our 2022 Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region list. Morgan State is a medium-sized school located in Baltimore, Maryland that handed out 18 masters’s engineering degrees in 2019-2020.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Cornell University. The school came in at #5 for the Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region. With a ranking of #6, University of Maryland - College Park did quite well on the 2022 Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region list. University at Buffalo landed the #7 spot on the 2022 Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking. Manhattan College landed the #8 spot on the 2022 Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking. Manhattan College is a private not-for-profit institution located in Riverdale, New York. The school has a small population, and it awarded 75 masters’s degrees in 2019-2020.

Fairleigh Dickinson University - Metropolitan Campus came in at #9 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking. FDU is a medium-sized private not-for-profit school situated in Teaneck, New Jersey. It awarded 17 masters’s engineering degrees in 2019-2020.

Binghamton University ranked #10 on this year’s Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region list. Binghamton University is a fairly large school located in Vestal, New York that handed out 248 masters’s engineering degrees in 2019-2020.

SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry came in at #11 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking. SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry is located in Syracuse, New York and, has a small student population. In 2019-2020, this school awarded 16 masters’s engineering degrees to qualified students.

University of Delaware did quite well in the 2022 Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking, coming in at #22. UD is a public institution located in Newark, Delaware. The school has a large population, and it awarded 97 masters’s degrees in 2019-2020.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at UD, the school also landed the #20 spot in our “Best Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” ranking.
