With 200,458 degrees handed out in 2019-2020, engineering is the 6th most popular major in the United States. In 2017-2018, engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $64,888 and had an average of $23,564 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 40,264 engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $61,596 and $23,814 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 7,765 engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,950 and $43,286 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region” ranking analyzed 59 colleges that offered a degree in engineering. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great engineering programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the engineering program at the school and the cost of the school after aid is awarded among other things. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Out of the 59 schools in the Best Value Engineering Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University - Worldwide landed the #1 spot on the list. Located in Daytona Beach, Florida, this fairly large private not-for-profit school awarded 113 diplomas to qualified masters’s engineering students in 2019-2020.

Embry-Riddle Worldwide did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #24 on our “Best Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” list.
