2022 Best Value Engineering Schools for a Doctorate in the Southeast Region
It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for students. College Factual was founded, in part, to help students make the decision as to what would be the best school for them. Our “Best Value Engineering Schools for a Doctorate in the Southeast Region” ranking is part of that endeavor.
In 2019-2020, 200,458 engineering students received their degree, making the major the 6th most popular in the country. In 2017-2018, engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $64,888 and had an average of $23,564 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 40,264 engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $61,596 and $23,814 respectively. At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 2,430 engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $71,978 and $116,300 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Engineering Schools for a Doctorate in the Southeast Region” ranking analyzed 43 colleges that offered a degree in engineering. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent engineering programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the engineering program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

With a ranking of #22, University of Central Florida did quite well on the 2022 Best Value Engineering Schools for a Doctorate in the Southeast Region list.
