In 2019-2020, 57,893 people earned their degree in finance and financial management, making the major the 14th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, finance and financial management graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $51,578 and had an average of $26,517 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southwest region, there were 6,966 finance and financial management graduates with average earnings and debt of $50,122 and $25,138 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 6,139 finance and financial management graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,896 and $23,899 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Finance Schools for a Bachelor’s in the Southwest Region” ranking analyzed 72 colleges that offered a degree in finance and financial management. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great finance and financial management programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the finance and financial management program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.
