Marketing is the 16th most popular major in the country with 52,262 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, marketing graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $40,323 and had an average of $24,975 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southwest region, there were 6,234 marketing graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,667 and $25,152 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 5,224 marketing graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,896 and $23,899 respectively.

For this year’s “Best Value Marketing Schools for a Bachelor’s in the Southwest Region” ranking, we looked at 75 colleges that offer a degree in marketing. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality marketing programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.

UH is a large public school situated in Houston, Texas. It awarded 241 bachelors’s marketing degrees in 2019-2020.

The low student loan default rate of 4.7% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%.
