With 73,172 degrees handed out in 2020-2021, accounting is the 7th most popular major in the United States.

At the associate degree level specifically, there were 4,133 accounting graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,806 and $19,336 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly for Accounting for an Associate” ranking analyzed 178 colleges that offered a degree in accounting. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent accounting programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
