2022 Best Value PR Schools for a Master’s

In 2019-2020, 5,347 people earned their degree in public relations, making the major the 136th most popular in the United States.
At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 425 public relations graduates with average earnings and debt of $56,398 and $43,194 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value PR Schools for a Master’s” ranking looked at 20 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in public relations. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality public relations programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the public relations program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. See our ranking methodology to learn more.

Top 20 Best Value Master’s Degree Colleges for Public Relations
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Webster University. The school came in at #1 for the Best Value PR Schools for a Master’s. Located in Saint Louis, Missouri, this medium-sized private not-for-profit school handed out 9 degrees to qualified masters’s PR students in 2019-2020.
Webster did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #9 on our “Best Public Relations Master’s Degree Schools” list. Average graduate tuition and fees at Webster are $13,500, but some majors have different tuition rates.
Out of the 20 schools in the Best Value PR Schools for a Master’s that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Houston landed the #2 spot on the list. University of Houston is located in Houston, Texas and, has a large student population. In 2019-2020, this school awarded 10 masters’s PR degrees to qualified students.
UH did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #12 on our “Best Public Relations Master’s Degree Schools” list. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at UH are $18,689.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Rowan University. It ranked #3 on our 2022 Best Value PR Schools for a Master’s list. Located in Glassboro, New Jersey, this fairly large public school handed out 13 diplomas to qualified masters’s PR students in 2019-2020.
Rowan also made our “Best Public Relations Master’s Degree Schools” list, coming in at #10. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at Rowan are $15,787.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend George Washington University. It ranked #4 on our 2022 Best Value PR Schools for a Master’s list. George Washington University is a private not-for-profit institution located in Washington, District of Columbia. The school has a large population, and it awarded 36 masters’s degrees in 2019-2020.
GWU also took the #2 spot in our “Best Public Relations Master’s Degree Schools” ranking. Average graduate tuition and fees at George Washington University are $31,824, but you may pay more or less depending on your major.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Montana State University - Billings. It ranked #5 on our 2022 Best Value PR Schools for a Master’s list. Montana State University - Billings is a small school located in Billings, Montana that handed out 8 masters’s PR degrees in 2019-2020.

University of Southern California did quite well in the 2022 Best Value PR Schools for a Master’s ranking, coming in at #18.
