It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for students. College Factual has developed its “Best Value IT Schools for a Master’s” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
Information Technology is the 37th most popular major in the country with 28,174 degrees awarded in 2019-2020.
At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 5,373 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $56,398 and $43,194 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value IT Schools for a Master’s” ranking, we looked at 83 colleges that offer a degree in information technology. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great information technology programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the information technology program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. See our ranking methodology to learn more.

Grand Canyon University is a large private for-profit school situated in Phoenix, Arizona. It awarded 194 masters’s IT degrees in 2019-2020.

Towson University came in at #8 in this year’s edition of the Best Value IT Schools for a Master’s ranking. Located in Towson, Maryland, this large public school handed out 73 diplomas to qualified masters’s IT students in 2019-2020.

University of Washington - Seattle Campus did quite well in the 2022 Best Value IT Schools for a Master’s ranking, coming in at #9. Seattle, Washington is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out masters’s IT degrees to 106 students in 2019-2020.

University of Cincinnati - Main Campus landed the #11 spot on the 2022 Best Value IT Schools for a Master’s ranking. Cincinnati, Ohio is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out masters’s IT degrees to 141 students in 2019-2020.
