In 2020-2021, 2,552 people earned their degree in educational assessment, making the major the 184th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, educational assessment graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $55,573 and had an average of $34,777 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southwest region, there were 175 educational assessment graduates with average earnings and debt of $45,221 and $24,497 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Assessment” ranking, we looked at 5 colleges that offer a degree in educational assessment. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent educational assessment programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

Out of the 5 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Assessment that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Arizona landed the #1 spot on the list. University of Arizona is a large public school situated in Tucson, Arizona. It awarded 79 ’s assessment degrees in 2020-2021.

University of Arizona also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].Among the 45,601 students enrolled at University of Arizona, 2,131 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 1,478 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $8,880. During this same period, 31 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. University of Arizona does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of New Mexico - Main Campus. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Assessment list. Located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, this large public school handed out 25 degrees to qualified ’s assessment students in 2020-2021.

UNM also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 22,311 students enrolled at University of New Mexico - Main Campus, 1 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 0 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $0. During this same period, 0 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend University of Central Oklahoma. The school came in at #3 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Assessment. UCO is a fairly large public school situated in Edmond, Oklahoma. It awarded 10 ’s assessment degrees in 2020-2021.

In addition to being on our southwest region vets studying assessment list, UCO has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 934 of the 14,132 students enrolled at University of Central Oklahoma were GI Bill® students, of which 428 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $6,062. During this same period, 0 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. University of Central Oklahoma does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University. It ranked #4 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Assessment list. Weatherford, Oklahoma is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s assessment degrees to 21 students in 2020-2021.

In addition to being on our southwest region vets studying assessment list, SWOSU has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 11 of the 4,898 students enrolled at SWOSU were GI Bill® students, of which 7 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $2,832. On top of their other funding sources, 0 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

Hobbs, New Mexico is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out ’s assessment degrees to 10 students in 2020-2021.

USW did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.According to our most recent data, University of the Southwest supports 904 students, and 31 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 28 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $9,384. On top of their other funding sources, 1 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program.
