In 2020-2021, 43,297 people earned their degree in teacher education subject specific, making the major the 22nd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, teacher education subject specific graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $42,245 and had an average of $24,696 in loans still to pay off.
Across Illinois, there were 1,676 teacher education subject specific graduates with average earnings and debt of $45,451 and $25,401 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Illinois for Subject Specific Ed” ranking, we looked at 37 colleges that offer a degree in teacher education subject specific. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great teacher education subject specific programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
