With all of the options veterans have for higher education today, it can be tough to choose which direction to take. College Factual was founded, in part, to help students make the decision as to what would be the best school for them. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Bio Engineering” ranking is part of that endeavor.
In 2020-2021, 12,811 people earned their degree in biomedical engineering, making the major the 71st most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, biomedical engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $59,445 and had an average of $22,702 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 1,324 biomedical engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $56,486 and $21,662 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Bio Engineering” ranking analyzed 17 colleges that offered a degree in biomedical engineering. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality biomedical engineering programs as well as strong veteran support.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the biomedical engineering program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran satisfaction. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Top 17 Best Biomedical Engineering Colleges for Veterans in the Southwest Region
Out of the 17 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Bio Engineering that were part of this year’s ranking, Texas A&M University - College Station landed the #1 spot on the list. Texas A&M College Station is a large school located in College Station, Texas that handed out 213 ’s bio engineering degrees in 2020-2021.

Tempe, Arizona is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s bio engineering degrees to 165 students in 2020-2021.
