In 2019-2020, 30,670 people earned their degree in electrical engineering, making the major the 31st most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, electrical engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $70,098 and had an average of $23,581 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 5,130 electrical engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $64,427 and $24,003 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 3,206 electrical engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $36,277 and $25,415 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value EE Schools for a Bachelor’s in the Southeast Region” ranking looked at 66 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in electrical engineering. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great electrical engineering programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

Top 25 Best Value Bachelor’s Degree Colleges for Electrical Engineering in the Southeast Region

Out of the 66 schools in the Best Value EE Schools for a Bachelor’s in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of South Florida - Main Campus landed the #1 spot on the list. This large school is located in Tampa, Florida, and it awarded 116 bachelors’s EE degrees in 2019-2020.

USF Tampa also took the #13 spot in our “Best Electrical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking. The estimated yearly cost for USF Tampa is $8,355 for Southeast Region Bachelor’s Degree EE students.
