Electrical Engineering is the 39th most popular major in the country with 28,844 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, electrical engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $74,380 and had an average of $24,114 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 5,288 electrical engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $68,403 and $24,939 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 3,355 electrical engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $37,400 and $27,180 respectively.

This year’s “Most Well Attended EE Major in the Southeast Region for a Bachelor’s” ranking looked at 79 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in electrical engineering. To top this list, a school must have a successful electrical engineering program that graduates more students in the field than other colleges that offer the same major.
