In 2020-2021, 40,481 people earned their degree in English, making the major the 19th most popular in the United States.

Across the Southwest region, there were 4,794 English graduates with average earnings and debt of $0 and $0 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for English Language” ranking analyzed 38 colleges that offered a degree in English. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality English programs as well as strong veteran support.

University of Houston - Downtown landed the #24 spot on the 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for English Language ranking. This fairly large school is located in Houston, Texas, and it awarded 40 ’s English language degrees in 2020-2021.

In addition to being on our southwest region vets studying english language list, UH Downtown has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Among the 15,239 students enrolled at University of Houston - Downtown, 20 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data.
