Veterans have lots of options to chooose from today when trying to decide which college to attend. College Factual was founded, in part, to help students make the decision as to what would be the best school for them. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Human Development” ranking is part of that endeavor.
In 2020-2021, 42,112 people earned their degree in human development and family studies, making the major the 44th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, human development and family studies graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $28,862 and had an average of $22,387 in loans still to pay off.
Across the New England region, there were 1,238 human development and family studies graduates with average earnings and debt of $32,507 and $23,372 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Human Development” ranking looked at 13 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in human development and family studies. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality human development and family studies programs as well as strong veteran support.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of New Hampshire - Main Campus. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Human Development list. University of New Hampshire - Main Campus is a fairly large public school situated in Durham, New Hampshire. It awarded 88 ’s human development degrees in 2020-2021.
