2022 Best Value Bachelor’s Degree Colleges for Modern Languages

In 2019-2020, 3,075 people earned their degree in modern languages, making the major the 219th most popular in the United States.
At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 2,336 modern languages graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,303 and $24,501 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Modern Languages Schools for a Bachelor’s” ranking looked at 85 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in modern languages. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality modern languages programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the modern languages program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.
