In 2020-2021, 322,592 nursing students received their degree, making the major the 3rd most popular in the country. In 2019-2020, nursing graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $70,916 and had an average of $25,426 in loans still to pay off.

Across Oklahoma, there were 3,009 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $61,810 and $25,553 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Oklahoma for Nursing” ranking, we looked at 29 colleges that offer a degree in nursing. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality nursing programs as well as strong veteran support.

When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the nursing program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran satisfaction. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Northeastern State University did quite well in the 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Oklahoma for Nursing ranking, coming in at #7. NSU is a medium-sized public school situated in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. It awarded 123 ’s nursing degrees in 2020-2021.
