2022 Best Value Registered Nursing Schools for an Associate

In 2019-2020, 259,493 registered nursing students received their degree, making the major the 3rd most popular in the country.
At the associate degree level specifically, there were 83,592 registered nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,082 and $17,678 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Registered Nursing Schools for an Associate” ranking looked at 931 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in registered nursing. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality registered nursing programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the registered nursing program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Out of the 931 schools in the Best Value Registered Nursing Schools for an Associate that were part of this year’s ranking, Los Angeles County College of Nursing and Allied Health landed the #1 spot on the list. Located in Los Angeles, California, this small public school awarded 98 degrees to qualified associates’s registered nursing students in 2019-2020.
L.A. County School of Nursing not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #2 on our “Best Registered Nursing Associate Degree Schools” list.
The low student loan default rate of 2.0% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%. The student-to-faculty ratio of 3 to 1 is a sign that students will have more opportunities to engage with their professors one-on-one.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Union County College. It ranked #2 on our 2022 Best Value Registered Nursing Schools for an Associate list. Located in Cranford, New Jersey, this medium-sized public school awarded 354 degrees to qualified associates’s registered nursing students in 2019-2020.
